First rental station at the airport was opened by Avis

All important discoveries were done by personalities. Charismatic personalities moved by the power of inner motivation. Sometimes such people do something with personal inducements don’t understanding they’ve made a break-through in this or that sphere. Or even become its founder. The same thing has happened with an American military aviator Warren Avis. Now his family name is known all over the world as a name of famous leasing and rental company allover the world. His name in English is Avis.

Flying during the Second World War Warren Avis took with him a bicycle on the board of the plain to move from one city to another after his arrival. As far as it was not convenient he decided that after the end of the war he will organize rental stations at the airports. And avis did not stop before his goal. In 1946 Warren opened his first service on car rental in Detroit. Here begins the history of a new service car rental at the airports. Warren Avis opened Avis Airlines Rent a Car systems at the airport Willow Run Airport in Detroit foreseeing the boom of tourism during the post-war period. Avis became the first rental company in the world which has opened the first rental station at the airport. This first fleet was only of 3 cars. And in year 1953 company began its activity in Europe, Canada and Mexico. In 1963 Avis begins its advertising campaign, which has become a classic one, with the logo “We try harder”. This campaign was in top 10 advertising logos at all times. It depicts Avis’s conception core. “We try harder” – Avis logo is heard everywhere. Today company has 5 000 branches in 170 countries all over the world. Energy, enthusiasm, innovation, urge towards continuous development in course of years defining company’s image.

Today Avis Ukraine offers the full spectrum of transportation services: operational and financial leasing, short- and long-term rental, drivers outsourcing and transfers, business taxi, car reservation, fleet management services. Company’s fleet today is about 2 000 cars. Avis holds its activity in Kiev and 6 regions. Avis team always considered clients’ wishes. “We try harder!” It is not only one of the most famous logos in the world first of all it is a promise to work today better than yesterday.
